Francis Picabia (1879-1953). French painter.
Who among the general public that follow the facts of art knows that the great and famous Picabia returned to figurative painting in the '30s during the second part of his life? I mean that you should never take anything for granted, the passage to non-figurative art is not irreversible as many modern critics argued (but there are those who still continue to do so) and - a fact that is worth emphasizing - Picabia had not suddenly gone mad.
I want to clarify that I consider these works less than mediocre.
