Despite of his successful life he was almost forgotten after his death. He was not an exceptional artist, but he knew how to do his job, certainly he could paint better than many other acclaimed artists. Let's imagine a modern Tiepolo. Nevertheless some intelligent and engaged critics have considered appropriate to delete his works because of a supposed involvement in the events of the Spanish civil war. Once more it is clear that extra-artistic considerations interfere in the correct evaluation of an artist. It is always the same old story.
